Why do I need a TONE Blueprint first?

What happens before my first visit?

You complete a pre-consultation covering your colour history, current hair photographs in natural light, the direction you want and how much maintenance realistically fits your life. It supports the in-person consultation rather than replacing it.

Why are some prices shown as a minimum?

Because length, density, regrowth and existing colour change how much product and time the work takes. We will give you an estimated quote, confirmed with you before we begin.

Why do you give an approximate quote and not a definite figure?

Because sometimes the hair needs more product than we can estimate in advance. For example, a foil may need another application of bleach to make sure the lift is even.

Can you do it in one visit?

Sometimes. Big changes in depth, heavy correction and long histories of box colour often need more than one appointment to do safely. We will say so before you commit, not halfway through.

What do I need to bring for a TONE Blueprint or TONE Colour Analysis?

Just yourself. If you are coming from work or arrive wearing makeup, we have makeup remover available in the studio.

Why is the cancellation policy tiered?

The longer the service, the harder the time is to rebook at short notice, so the notice we ask for increases with the length of the appointment.

What is included in a colour appointment?

Diffused Blonde & Brunette, Bright Blonde and Transformation Blonde each include a Single Gloss and a blow wave. Every Glossy Hair service includes a blow wave.

Which blonde service is right for me?

Diffused Blonde & Brunette is lived-in colour with a seamless root blend, made to grow out softly. Bright Blonde is packed foils for maximum brightness and is the higher-maintenance choice. Transformation Blonde combines foils and balayage for maximum lift, dimension and brightness. Your Blueprint confirms which one suits your hair and your upkeep.

How often will I need to come back?

Diffused colour grows out softly, so the gaps between visits are longer. Bright Blonde grows out more visibly, which is why there is a maintenance appointment for returns up to 10 weeks. Your Blueprint sets a schedule that fits your hair and your life.

Why are Bright Blonde and Dimensional Colour priced differently before and after 10 weeks?

Returning within 10 weeks means less regrowth to lift, so the appointment is shorter and the price reflects it. After 10 weeks it is booked as a full service.

Why is there no partial colour?

If you want a partial colour or a little top-up in between services, select a gloss and add on a Face Frame.

Can Precision Colour lighten hair that has been coloured with permanent colour before?

No. Precision Colour is a permanent colour service and permanent colour cannot lift hair that already has permanent colour in it. It is used for full grey coverage or an all-over lift on natural hair. If you need permanent colour lifted out, this would be a Colour Correction or Grey Blending service.

What counts as a Colour Correction?

Colour that has not gone to plan: uneven or patchy results, banding, tone that will not shift, brassiness that keeps returning, or old pigment sitting underneath. It is some of the most technical work we do and every correction is shaped by the hair's history.

How is a Colour Correction priced and can it be done in one visit?

It is assessed in person and quoted individually before we begin. Depending on how much the hair can safely take in one sitting, it may need more than one appointment.

What is Grey Blending?

Soft, natural coverage that blends grey into your existing colour rather than erasing it. It builds a low-maintenance grow-out, so there is no hard regrowth line to manage.

Does Grey Blending mean going silver?

No. We can match your natural tone, or the tone that best suits your skin tone based on your TONE Blueprint results.

Can I Grey Blend if I currently use permanent colour?

Yes. We lift the permanent colour out first, which lets us build a new base and add back depth and dimension for a soft, dimensional blend. It is assessed and quoted the same way as a correction and can take more than one appointment.

What is the difference between a Single Gloss, Double Gloss and Zone Toning?

A Single Gloss is one application for tone refinement and shine. A Double Gloss is two applications for deeper tone and maximum shine. Zone Toning places different glosses across different zones of the hair for a balanced blend, because one tone does not suit every part of the hair. Adding a second gloss to Zone Toning gives deeper tone and longer-lasting results.

What is To the Darker Side?

A controlled light-to-dark transition. Lightened hair has lost underlying pigment, so we use a filler to replace it, then a double gloss for depth and saturation. Without the filler, dark colour on lightened hair tends to fade quickly or turn off tone.

Micro Trim, Shape Refresh or Restyle: which do I need?

A Micro Trim removes split ends and keeps hair healthy between full cuts. A Shape Refresh restores movement to a shape that is already working. A Restyle is a new length, shape and energy, with styling guidance so you can recreate it at home.

Why do I need a TONE Blueprint before a Restyle?

A Restyle does not include a cut analysis. It changes your length, shape and energy and the right change depends on your proportions and features, not on a photograph, so that analysis is done first in your TONE Blueprint. It gives us the direction on shape before any cutting begins.

Why is a haircut cheaper when booked with colour?

It is added into the same appointment, so it takes less time than a standalone cut.

Which Style Edit should I book?

The Style Edit 45 suits short to medium hair, or fine long hair. The Style Edit 60 suits thicker hair, or when you want extra styling such as hot rollers or a roller set.

What are Tip-Outs, Face Frame and Dimension?

Tip-Outs add brightness through the ends. Face Frame concentrates lightness around the face, where it is seen most. It can also be added to any Glossy Hair service, for an in-between mini service. Dimension adds low-lights back into an all-over lightened colour, for depth against the brightness.

Do I need K18?

No. It is an optional add-on to any colour service, used to protect the hair's structural integrity.
